My Little Bookworms' Picks

We kept our books for two weeks this time because the boys picked out so many!  We learned all about ants, read another A to Z Mystery book, and spent hours reading together!  Here were some of their favorites!

EIEIO - How did Old Mac Donald end up with that farm in the first place?  This funny book tells that tale.  Great when learning about gardening!

All Through My Town - This rhyming book is almost like a seek n' find!  The twins LOVED it!

The Bear Who Shared - The boys liked this very simple book.  It was not my favorite but it did teach a good lesson in sharing.

I have also let them pick out one cookbook from the children's section each week.  When we get home we work together to choose a recipe.  Then, they help me make it.  I love watching them learn their way around the kitchen!  If I can send four boys out from my nest who know how to cook, the world will be a better place!  :D

Smelly Nose

With every pregnancy I have (thankfully!) felt less and less sick.  I am not saying that this time around has been a walk in the park, but it is nowhere near as "reassuring" as the first.  :D  However, with each pregnancy some things have increased.  First of all being exhaustion.  Not a surprise because I now spend my days taking care of four active little boys.  It is a joy and an honor, but tiring.

The other increased symptom stuck me as strange.  It has been my sense of smell.  With my first pregnancy, bacon and popcorn were the only offenders.  But, who really wants their home to smell like those?  I don't see any bacon flavored candles.  Now the list of offensive smells has grown and grown, and it is getting out of hand!

Here is the list:
My toothpaste
My deodorant (I changed both of these 'cause you can't go around without them!)
Our laundry detergent
Our dish soap and hand soap (I changed these two too!)
The pantry
My husband (or at least his bodywash . . . and the smell of him after he rides in his car.)
My children (the "after recess" smell with which all teachers can relate)
The bread aisle in the commissary
Fresh baked cookies

So, if you see me walking around with a clip on my nose . . . it's survival!

Huck and Eli's Birthday Interviews!

I had so much fun doing these.  They had me cracking up, so I will add in my commentary. I originally tried to ask them the questions throughout the day, but I lost track of who said what.  I ended up sitting them down one at a time and really interviewing them.  We are working on their pronouns :D  I think they loved the one-on-one time.  I know I did!  I can't believe they are already three!  The pictures in Daddy's shirts will come soon!
